Emily has played on Howarth of London instruments since 2001.

She currently plays on a cocobolo LXV conservatoire system oboe they made for her.  She regularly gives masterclasses and performances sponsored by Howarth who are dedicated to increasing awareness of the oboe and its possibilities.  In 2013 Howarth commissioned Richard Blackford's Oboe Concerto The Better Angels of Our Nature for her.

For me Howarth instruments give security and smooth richness of sound - but most importantly they allow me a wide range of dynamics and sound colour
